Offaly Academy of Football comes to Ferbane

Offaly coiste na nÓg have endorsed a coaching plan for the development of county Football and Hurling squads for 12, 13 and 14-year olds. The football academy is split over three locations i.e. Tullamore, Edenderry and Ferbane. The academy will host 5 coaching sessions and after this stage the eventual county panel will be reduced to obout 40 players. The academy will be an on-going process where players can be added to the final forty during the years competitions. The hurling academy commences in February. The co-ordinators of each academy are:

Tullamore: Martin Heffernan, Edenderry: Laz Molloy and Ferbane: Brendan Clarke

The hurling academy is divided into Banagher and Tullamore.

The Ferbane academy got off to a great start on January 16th and over 90 boys from the three age groups attended from the Ferbane/Belmont, Tubber, Cloghan, Ballycumber, Kilcormac and D.E.R. clubs.
